The Sziget music festival occurs on the scenic “Old Buda Island” from the Danube River, also features numerous phases. Sziget has its origins in student unrest and political upheaval. However today it is one of the most popular festivals with tourists due to the nearby marvels of Budapest that guests may enjoy alongside the occasion. Together with the featured musical performances, Sziget also provides films, exhibitions, and theatrical displays. Around 496,000 people attended the show in 2016.
