Granada Television’s series starring Jeremy Brett is one of the best Sherlock Holmes adaptations. Some 42 tales from this complete 60 Holmes stories were adapted for the series between 1984 and 1994. Watson, Holmes’ sidekick, was performed by David Burke that was replaced by Edward Hardwicke. Jeremy Brett portrayal is thought to be among the most precise onscreen variant of the famed detective.
